Happy Saint Patrick's day!

My little boy preschool had a Saint Patrick's day celebration yesterday, I was on snack so I decided to make some Clover and Rainbow Fruit-Popsicle
along with some Clover cheddar and Gold crackers!
I thought it would be fun to bring some mini pot o gold to each children with stickers and gold coins! The treasure is the 1 coin is a chocolate!
We do not celebrate Saint Patrick's day in France, but I was always very curious of this holiday since my birthday is on march 18th, I feel some type of special connection with it.
Anyway I had fun preparing snacks.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

The Best Madeleine Recipe!

This is my son favorite snack, I used to buy them but all the madeleines you find in the US tend to have almonds in it, since he is on a nut-free diet I decided to make my own madeleines!
They are surprisingly very easy and you can keep then for 2-3 days.
You will need,
For about 18 madeleines:
225 g of flour
175 g of sugar
100 g of butter
4 eggs
1 little bag of french baking powder ( such as Alsa )
1/2 lemon
1 pinch of salt
For airy delicious madeleines:
-beat the egg and the sugar together until you get a foam
-add the melted butter, flour, and the rest of the ingredients
Let the batter rest at room temperature of about 2 hours, fill your madeleine to the 7/8 with the batter, then put them in the oven for about 7 minutes ( until golden ) at 410.
It's important to have a warm oven otherwise you will not get the "bump" of the madeleine,

French Toast from a French Maman

French Toast or "pain perdu" is usually eaten at the 4pm snack "gouter" and is made of left over bread!
I was so surprised when I first order French Toast in the US, it was a soggy square sandwich bread, it tasted like omelet, YUCK!
Well let me share with you the french recipe!
Buy some good french bread, slice it up the day before,
Batter for 2 people:
-whole milk ( 6 ounces )
-1 egg
Dip the bread on both side in the batter for about 5 seconds on each side
On medium heat in a pan melt some butter, then start cooking the french toast until golden brown.
Tip: Put some turbinado sugar 2 minutes before the end of cooking, it will melt and give a good caramel taste.
Welcome!
